结构性牛市是牛市，但不是真正的牛市，结构性牛市的出现可能与中国经济结构转型有关。结构性牛市的主要特征就是一些高景气周期或者政策扶持的板块和个股会不断上涨，但是大部分股票涨幅不明显甚至下跌。所以，在结构性牛市中，投资的难度将会更大，选对了股票，就能获利丰厚，选错了，赚不到钱甚至还会赔钱。

结构性牛市从其本义上理解就是阶段性的牛市，部分股票的牛市，不是真正的牛市，指数的牛市。其实关于结构性一词，最早的来源是在我国第一轮的国企改革中，当时出现了结构性失业一词。指的是一些企业的员工失业后去到其他有用工需求的企业中去工作，所以结构性失业当时说的也并不是真正的失业，这样就把结构性一词借用到各种经济领域了，以此说明一些似是而非的情况。
