结构性牛市的特征有三点。一是市场分化明显，市场资金主要抱团在当前景气周期或者政策扶持的板块和个股上。投资者能感受到的就是少部分行业股票一直上涨，但是大部分股票涨幅不明显甚至下跌。二是指数震荡的时间大于上涨时间，部分牛市板块对指数带动作用有限。三是结构性牛市即使在同一行业中，也会存在明显的强者恒强，弱者恒弱。

结构性牛市的出现一般有两种情形。 一是经济形势下行压力较大且未来有不确定性的情况下，资金逆周期的抱团行情。前几年上证50、沪深300的核心资产抱团行情就是这样，虽然一些大的消费蓝筹在上涨，但是指数走势并不强势。二是某些行业、企业在一定时间周期上表现抢眼或者受到政策利好驱动，比如大宗商品涨价驱动的周期股牛市，这都是结构性牛市。
