证券账户资金余额和可用资金不一样主要是因为当天投资者买卖了股票。所谓资金余额是指投资者股票账户的所有资金余额，可用资金则是指可以用来进行交易、转出的资金。一般情况下，若是当天进行了股票交易之后，卖出股票的钱会显示在资金余额里，但是这部分资金当天不能转出，可能就不会显示在可用资金里，因此投资者的可用资金就可能小于资金余额。还一种原因可能是投资者参与了信用交易，信用账户中还有未了结的负债合约，这时资金余额也会和可用资金不一致。

为了避免投资者混淆，现在有的股票账户里面会设置有可用资金和可取资金两项，可用资金是可以买入股票的，可取资金是既可以买入股票又可以通过银证转账转出来的，一般二者要么就是一样的，要么可取资金大于可用资金，二者的差即为当天卖出股票的金额。
